Travel Information

Distance (By Road):

63 miles

Car Route
By Road:

Getting to the Madejski Stadium is a relatively simple affair by road, with the venue pretty much located just off Junction 11 of the M4. From Stevenage, head southbound on the A1 and take the counter-clockwise M25 towards Heathrow Airport. At Junction 15, take the westbound M4.

It is around 23-and-a-half miles from the M25 to Junction 11, from where you need the A33 for Reading. Continue towards the town centre through three roundabouts, before taking the first exit at the fourth for Northern Way. Turn left onto Hoops Way and again onto Shooters Way.

Where To Park?:

According to Reading's official website, limited overflow parking is available at the ground for £8, with non-permit holders required to enter via Northern Way as detailed above. The car park at the nearby hotel is for guests only.

However, the official website does contain information about alternative parking sites, which include Foster Wheeler, which is free but involves a £4 shuttle bus ride. The Greyhound/Speedway Stadium costs £8, as does Worton Grange (formerly HP Invent).

Foster Wheeler is signposted as "park and ride" from Junction 11 along the B3270. The Greyhound/Speedway Stadium site is accessible from the A33 by turning right into Bennet Road at the roundabout.

Worton Grange is on the right at the first roundabout having joined the A33, but can only be accessed by turning left after approaching from Basinsgtoke Road. For further details, please visit Reading's official website.

Station: READING

Reading's train station is located in the centre of the town, but connects with the stadium through the Fasttrack Park and Ride green bus. You could try the walk, but it is a three-mile trek and will take you the best part of an hour.
