If the current season does cop it due to events outside our control, there’s no better way to work out what’s what than our FIFA 20 Verdict. This time, it’s taking our match indoors with Newport County and putting it into its virtual mouth. What it chews and spits out is the only reason we’re all here. But we sure hope it’s washed its hands for 20 seconds – or a round of Everywhere We Go – before waving its robotic jazz hands in our face with the outcome we’re all keen to know. Or not so keen. We can’t tell you what to think and that…
FIFA 20 Verdict: Boro’ v Newport County
(Can’t see the video? Go to YouTube instead)
If there’s to be a turning point in our season, we could do with it being here. And our FIFA 20 Verdict says there will be. Mind you, it also had us down to beat Crewe. So, we’re a bit unsure what to believe. The moral of this story is that all is not lost if we fall behind. That’s especially the case if Elliott List can indeed pull a worldie out the bag on the day. After all, some things are just better in real life. We just haven’t seen enough of ’em since August…

What odds on fiction becoming fact?
It’s not a good look when a side who can’t buy a win on the road at the moment are better-priced at the bookies. But, if our FIFA 20 Verdict is right, 21/10 (Betfair) is the best you can get right now on the home win. Both Teams to Score is 12/11 (VBet), which seems safer if you aren’t a fan of the 45/4 (SportsNation) on the correct score. Over 2.5 Goals is yours at the best price at time of writing of 6/4 (BetVictor), meanwhile.
- Jamille Matt to be first goalscorer – 11/2 (Bet365)
- Elliott List to score at any time – 9/2 (multiple)
- Craig Mackail-Smith to score at any time – 10/3 (multiple)
Now, our fun stopped as soon as the final whistle went here. If you’re having a punt and the fun stops, so should you.
