A right-sided player who can double up as a striker, Marvin Williams arrived at the Lamex Stadium having enjoyed a brief spell with the Swedish side Östersunds FK alongside a number of other English players who had swapped the Football League for the colder climes of Norrettan (Division 1).
The switch to Sweden followed an unsuccessful and brief stint with Torquay United in 2009, where Williams was only able to command four appearances before being allowed to leave by manager Paul Buckle. Elsewhere, the player had more fruitful spells with Brentford and Yeovil Town.
However, his Boro' career was limited to a brief substitute appearance against Wycombe Wanderers and he moved on shortly afterwards.
