One of the first names to join Stevenage Borough in the January transfer window 2008 was Chester City centre-back, Ashley Westwood. A highly-experienced defender, Westwood joins the Broadhall Way side to add some steely strength at the back to further enhance Boro's promotion prospects.
A series of inconsistent performances, both individually and as a team in general, saw that Boro' failed to make the playoffs in 2008. Upon the arrival of Graham Westley, Westwood was transfer-listed. The defender was allowed to leave Broadhall Way by mutual consent in July 2008.
