Debut:

The capture of young striker Craig Westcarr was a more drawn-out affair than manager Graham Westley would have liked in the 2008 close season. Claims were made by former club Kettering Town of an illegal approach made by the Broadhall Way outfit; claims which were strongly denied.

It failed to prevent what was thought to be a permanent move from happening after the striker accepted terms at Boro' to switch from the newly-promoted Poppies. The forward came with limited League experience starting out at Nottingham Forest, and through a couple of loan spells at Lincoln City and MK Dons respectively, before the player moved onto Cambridge United in 2005, scoring 8 goals in 31 appearances.

Further more, Westcarr has international caps at England U15, U16, U17, U18 and U21 levels. But within a month of the season's commencement in 2008, however, Westcarr was back at Kettering Town - much to the speculation of fans as to why.
