Debut:
Young goalkeeper Joe Welch signed for Stevenage from Blue Square Bet Premier side Histon in March 2011 on a loan deal; one that was somewhat unexpected at the time of its announcement.
Welch made his debut for the Cambridgeshire side in 2008 after a switch from Southend United and went onto become one of the most promising performers at the Glassword Stadium.
Despite seemingly expressing an interest in remaining at Stevenage ahead of the 2011/2 season amid the presence of both Alan Julian and Chris Day in Boro' ranks, Welch signed for Ebbsfleet United having not turned out for the Hertfordshire club during his stay.
