Boro' Debut: vs Morecambe (H), 08/02/2003

One of the seven that followed Graham Westley from Farnborough to Stevenage, Watson was immediately installed as the club captain much to the disapproval of the home fans. Watson never proved wholly popular at Broadhall Way, and when he left in the summer of 2004 after just one full season at Broadhall Way, there weren't too many tears shed.

From the moment Steve Watson arrived at Broadhall Way, it was clear he was going to be one of Graham Westley's key men. The tough-tackling midfielder made a slow start to life at Boro', but appeared to come into his own as he got settled and ended the season on a more consistent note. Alas, much of his play was frustrating and often seen as indisciplined. Aldershot and AFC Wimbledon were next on the player's schedule.
