Boro' Debut: vs Forest Green Rovers (H), 16/02/2002
One of the first local recruits drafted in by Wayne Turner in 2002, Jude Stirling was initially allowed to join Boro' from Luton Town on a loan basis before the deal was made permanent. In his debut match against Forest Green Rovers, nearly everyone at Broadhall Way was to be surprised when the player delivered a monster throw-in that caused confusion and led to Boro's first goal. The Delap-esque talent aside, Stirling was a promising youngster that struggled to deliver as Boro's form collapsed towards the end of 2002.
After being allowed to move on by Graham Westley in 2003, the player started to find his feet and progressed into the Football League via a number of fellow non-league sides. Lincoln City, Peterborough United and MK Dons all saw fit to swoop for the player, who will also be remembered for the worm celebration having scored his solitary Boro' goal against Hereford United.
