Debut: vs Dagenham & Redbridge (H), 10/10/1994
A former England international player, Roberts signed for Boro' in October 1994 following a spell at Slough Town. After being in charge at Enfield during the previous term, Roberts returned to management on leaving Borough when he joined Yeovil Town.
However, he was suspended from Yeovil for two weeks and then released by mutual consent following an infamous incident involving a fax machine (pipe down Oxford) during Borough's FA Cup games with Newcastle United.
