Hugely experienced striker Isaiah Rankin joined Stevenage Borough at the last possible moment of the January transfer window in 2008. The striker made the switch from Grimsby Town where he had fallen out of favour, and among his former clubs, Rankin can list Premiership sides Arsenal, Bolton and Birmingham.
Rankin was allowed to leave at the end of the 2007/8 season after being deemed surplus to the requirements of new manager Graham Westley, having failed to show any real promise in the relatively few outings he was given at Broadhall Way.
