Mark Stimson's second signing after assuming control of Stevenage Borough, Danny Potter is a decent goalkeeper who arrived from Canvey Island in June 2006 to fill the void that had been left by the departure of Shane Gore.
Originally on Chelsea's books, the goalkeeper moved to Canvey Island in 2002 where he featured over 70 times for the Essex club, including the season Canvey Island won the Ryman Premier League title.
However, Potter had his work cut out at Broadhall Way after moving back to the Nationwide Conference, after Canvey's demotion to the Ryman North league. With Alan Julian so impressive for Stevenage Borough, Potter found it hard to displace his goalkeeping team-mate, although Potter was undoubtedly able in his position.
With first-team places limited, Potter left the club in the summer of 2007 for Conference rivals Cambridge United.
