Pace and power define one of Stevenage Borough's summer signings in the 2009 close season, and it will be interesting to see whether manager Graham Westley sees Yemi Odubade as a right-sided winger or an out-and-out striker. Released by Oxford United as part of their plans to take a different approach towards their own promotion bid, Westley believed that United's loss would be Stevenage Borough's gain in the Hertfordshire club's own attempt to secure Football League status. Some regard him as a hit and miss player; many at Boro' are certain in regarding him in the former.
Capable of creating something out of nothing, Odubade's Boro' debut was a fairly unremarkable affair but was in no way a fair marker for what could be expected during the 2009/10. A tireless and determined player, Yemi ran and ran and ran throughout the title-winning campaign and was rewarded with his fair share of goals to finish as Boro's leading marksman for the season. Never afraid to pull wide and enable the midfield to come into the action, Westley's faith in Odubade was repaid time and again, and the player's efforts were rewarded with promotion to the League.
