BORO' CAREER:

Debut: vs Tamworth (H), 08/08/2009
Pace and power define one of Stevenage Borough's summer signings in the 2009 close season, and it was interesting to see if manager Graham Westley saw Yemi Odubade as a right-sided winger or an out-and-out striker. Released by Oxford United, Westley believed that United's loss would be Stevenage Borough's gain in the Hertfordshire club's bid to secure Football League status.
Some regarded Odbuade as a hit and miss player; many at Boro' were certain in regarding him in the former. Capable of creating something out of nothing, Odubade's Boro' debut was a fairly unremarkable affair but was in no way an adequate marker for what could be expected during the 2009/10 campaign.
A tireless and determined player, Yemi ran and ran and ran throughout the title-winning campaign and was rewarded with his fair share of goals to finish as Boro's leading marksman for the season. Never afraid to pull wide and enable the midfield to come into the action, Westley's faith in Odubade was repaid time and again.
The player's efforts were rewarded in 2010 with promotion to the League, and he featured sporadically throughout Boro's debut season in npower League Two. However, January 2011 saw Odubade move to Newport County on loan as part of a deal that saw striker Craig Reid move to Hertfordshire. It suggested that the curtain had fallen on Odubade's stay at The Lamex and in summer 2011, the player moved to Gateshead.
Stats do not include expunged Chester City fixtures in 2009/10.
