Signed from Grays Athletic shortly after Mark Stimson's appointment as Boro' manager, Nutter came as a highly regarded left-back who's talent has not gone unnoticed by Paul Fairclough, who promptly handed the player England National Game caps after an impressive 2005/6 season.

Nutter marked the first signing of the 2006 summer, and with Justin Gregory being released prior to his arrival, the player was first-choice left-back during his spell at Boro' and certainly made the position his own.

Many believe he is perhaps one of the best left-backs to play for Boro', and when Stimson came back to raid his former club in November 2007, it was no surprise that Nutter was given a higher stage. His departure left Boro' without one of their most consistent performers, as well as a faultless penalty taker.
