Stevenage Borough managed to pull off an amazing coup in replacing Mark Stimson by securing former England caretaker boss Peter Taylor as the new man in charge. Taylor is no stranger to non-league management after previously taking the helm at Dartford and Dover Athletic, but in recent years he has plyed his trade in the Football League - most recently at Crystal Palace.
In his management career he has led both Gillingham and Hull City to promotion, but he inexplicably managed to lose a strong placing in the 2008 playoff hunt, eventually finishing two points adrift of the top five. At the end of the 2007/8 season, after just a matter of months in charge, Taylor decided to leave Broadhall Way and was named Wycombe manager shortly after.
