Another 2010 close season signing saw defensive midfielder John Mousinho trade Wycombe Wanderers for Stevenage after turning down a new contract at Adams Park in favour of teaming up with Graham Westley at the Lamex Stadium.

Having been farmed out on loan during his three-year stint with Brentford, Mousinho took the chance to sign for ex-Stevenage failure Peter Taylor at Wycombe Wanderers in 2008. There, he went on to make 38 appearances and scored twice during his first season as the Chairboys made the step up to League One.

Mousinho went on to make a further 41 appearances for Wycombe the following season, as the club were relegated back to League Two, whereupon he turned down a contract extension to join Stevenage squad in time for their first crack at League football.

The dynamic midfielder more than proved his worth at the Lamex Stadium, scoring some vital goals. None of them were more important than the strike at Old Trafford that earned Boro' promotion to League One and carved his name into the club's history books.
