A product of Stevenage Borough's youth programme, Jack Midson was given a limited number of first-team opportunities to prove his worth at Broadhall Way under three managers. The early signs uncovered some promise, but this was never allowed to develop due to the stop-start nature of his Boro' career - one that heralded just three starts and a solitary goal. It was no surprise, but certainly no relief, that Midson moved on.

And so it came to be proved as Midson gradually established his reputation and saw him move back into the Conference. But it was with Histon where Midson really proved himself and it was his record at the Glassworld Stadium that earned him a move to Oxford United in 2009.
