Having previously played for Leyton Orient, left-sided midfielder Daryl McMahon was recruited to join the ranks at Stevenage Borough in the January 2007 transfer window by manager Mark Stimson. The player racked up nearly fifty starts in his time at Brisbane Road where he spent just over two years.

McMahon brought an assured touch to the Boro' midfield and was highly effecitve with the players he worked with. He made yet further progress during the 2007/8 campaign, particularly in the first half of the season when Mark Stimson was still in charge.

Yet under Peter Taylor, he fell out of favour. Even from the substitute's bench, however, McMahon continued to show plenty of enthusiasm and determination as Boro's playoff bid faltered. With his contract up in June 2008, new boss Graham Westley managed to convince the midfielder to stay on for another year.

However, rumours of behind-the-scenes unrest prompted Westley to dispose of McMahon's services and allowed the player to move to Cambridge United.
