Signed from Carshalton Athletic at the start of 2011, Byron Harrison joined Stevenage having impressed in the goalscoring stakes during the first half of the season. Having scored 14 times before the turn of the year in the Isthmian League Premier Division, the Hertfordshire club swooped to secure his services.

It followed the departure of Chris Holroyd to parent club Brighton and Hove Albion, with Harrison's goalscoring capabilities evident during his time with Ashford Town (Middlesex), with sources suggesting a return of 43 goals from 96 appearances.

The player started out his career at Havant & Waterlooville, and enjoyed stints at Worthing and Harrow Borough in his ascent to the Football League; an ascent that continued as he ended the 2010/1 League Two season as Boro's top goalscorer.

News of Harrison's departure came a little out of the blue in January 2012, with AFC Wimbledon prising the striker away from Boro' ranks for a five-figure sum. In doing so, the player became the Dons' record signing and left the Lamex Stadium with a return of 10 goals in nearly 50 appearances.
