BORO' CAREER:
|
Debut: vs Dagenham & Redbridge (A), 14/08/2004
Ritchie Hanlon certainly arrived at Broadhall Way with a healthy reputation as being an industrious, goalscoring midfielder; facets that prompted Graham Westley to secure the player's services following a second stint at Rushden and Diamonds.
Having originally started his career at Chelsea, Hanlon moved down the leagues to Rushden and Diamonds via spells at Welling United and Southend United and enjoyed a rich vein of form that attracted the attention of Peterborough United.
However, he re-traced old footsteps into non-league with a move to Welling on loan, before returning to Rushden permanently. His time at Boro' started with a twist, deputising in goal on debut at Dagenham & Redbridge as no sub keeper was available to cover an injury to Andy Woodman.
