With Alan Julian being in such inspired form since his signing from Brentford, it has meant that anyone unlucky enough to be the understudy has had to endure very little in the way of first team action. Finding someone who was prepared to sit on the bench, yet provide necessary goalkeeping cover is never an easy task, but Boro' thought they had found their man in Shane Gore, who had been released by Barnet following their Championship success.
However, just three first team appearances during the 2005/6 season would not have been a satisfactory return for a goalkeeper with considerable talent, and understandably Gore departed shortly after the 2005/6 season. Although his stay at Broadhall Way may not have been entirely fruitful, Gore's presence did not go unnoticed by fans, and hopefully the goalkeeper will find success wherever he decides to sign for in the future.
