Manager Mark Stimson secured the services of Craig Dobson during the 2006 pre-season campaign, confident of having signed a skilful winger. Although forced to step down the football pyramid with sides like Lewes and, more recently, Cambridge City, Dobson also featured at Barnet as well as spells at Cheltenham Town.
Able to dazzle and frustrate in equal measures, Dobson contributed some crucial goals during the 2007/8 campaign from his role on the right side of midfield. Towards the end of the January 2008 transfer window, a bid from League Two high-flyers MK Dons was accepted and the player allowed the chance to move up a league.
