A former England Under 21 player, Dillon had more than 560 Football League games under his belt when he signed for Boro' in 1994 having played at top clubs such as Birmingham City and Wycombe, from whom he signed. He also appeared for Newcastle United and Portsmouth.
When Graham Roberts left the club to take the manager's job at Yeovil, Dillon was one of the first signings at Huish Park.
