Boro' Debut: vs Gravesend & Northfleet (A), 27/01/2007

A highly-rated winger who joined Stevenage Borough in January 2007 from Championship side, Southend United. Cole formerly played under Mark Stimson at Grays Athletic, and is known for his speedy and agile play that should provide Boro' with an extra attacking dimension. He was a key part of the transformation that overcame Boro' during the 2007 FA Trophy final, when the Hertfordshire side overturned a 2-0 half-time deficit to win the Trophy - Cole scored the first of the three goals that afternoon.

Since then his form has been affected by injury that kept him out of the 2007-8 season more often than Boro' would have liked, although Graham Westley now appears to be getting the best out of the flying winger once again. Terrorising defences is what Mitchell Cole does best, and offered a dynamic part of the Boro' front line that can produce goods when you least expect it.

Injury kept Cole out more than desired during the promotion campaign, but he played his part on a number of occasions; a quick-fire hattrick against Eastbourne Borough one of the stand-out moments of Cole's contribution to Boro's successful march on the Blue Square Premier summit during the 2009/10 season. However, the close season provided the player with an opportunity to move to pastures new with Oxford United; a chance the player opted to take.

Stats include expunged Chester City fixtures in 2009/10.
