Boro' Debut: vs Hayes (A), 21/08/2001

One week into the 2001/02 season it was probably in the minds of 90% of Boro' fans that DJ Campbell would be the goal-bagger that had been lacking inbetween Hayles and Alford, and since 'The Lardy One's departure. Having headlined during the PSF's, he picked up 2 goals away to Hayes, but unfortunately early-season injury meant he only featured in 6 games before November, and only 21 in the full season.

Many saw 2002/3 as DJ's make-or-break season - and unfortunately it turned out to be the latter. A public spat with then manager Wayne Turner saw him move out on loan to a number of sides, and finally a permanent move to Yeading Town. DJ's impact at Broadhall Way will not be forgotten however, as the nippy but lightweight striker grabbed the all important winner in the Trophy Quarter Final at home to Stalybridge, and also in the Semi-Final second leg at home to Morecambe.

Further more, Campbell has proved to be one of a rare bunch who have graduated from Boro' - albeit not in a straight upward curve - onto Premiership experience.
