Boro' Debut: vs Margate (H), 14/12/2002

The 2005/6 season was the one in which winger George Boyd went from a promising youngster on the fringes of the first team to hottest property in the Nationwide Conference. Boyd was one of the most utilised players over the course of the season, and his form attracted attention from many Football League clubs which was firmly rebuked by Stevenage Borough as they battled to hold onto their star player.

With over 100 starts accumulated in a Boro' shirt, the 2006/7 season could saw the player pass his century and capped a remarkable ascent to fame in the time it has been since he broke through from the EFCO scheme. 2006/7 promised to be an even better season, and ultimately led to a big-money deal in which Boyd moved to League Two outfit Peterborough United for a Conference record £260,000.

Despite being an England C international previously, ancestry led to Boyd's first senior call-up for the Scotland national team in 2009.
