Debut:
A local player signed from Hitchin Town ahead of the of 1991/2 season. Formerly of Baldock Town as player manager, Bowgett gained Football League experience with Wimbledon and was captain of the Wealdstone side which won the FA Trophy at Wembley in the 1984/5 season.
The tenacious defender captained Boro' during the 1991/2 campaign, and picked up the Players' Player of the Year Award for his efforts.
