A utility player (in the sense that he can play midfield and defence) perhaps by description, Michael Bostwick signed for Stevenage Borough in the summer of 2008. It followed his decision to leave Ebbsfleet United, where he was part of the 2008 FA Trophy winning squad. At only 20 years old when he made the switch to Broadhall Way, there is certainly a bright future ahead for the midfielder and he firmly established himself as Boro' in seasons that followed.

During the 2008/9 season, Bostwick exerted himself both across the back and midfield lines. Although he gave manager Graham Westley an additional option, it was the centre midfield berth in which the player led by example throughout Boro's 2009/10 title-winning campaign. It was little wonder that Football League clubs had started sniffing around before Boro' made the jump into League Two themselves.

So often a valuable player for Boro', Bostwick has an ability to make the tough tackles and to chip in with goals through his venomous strike; indeed, it was a tracer bullet of a shot that cannoned off the post that was Boro's stand-out goal when Newcastle United were defeated in the 2010/1 FA Cup at the Lamex. It is also a testament to his stamina that you will very rarely see Bostwick miss successive games, if one game at all.

Stats do not include expunged Chester City fixtures in 2009/10.
