Yeading ceased to be an autonomous footballing entity in 2007 following a merger with Hayes to create Hayes and Yeading Football Club. Before that, Yeading had risen from the London Spartan League into the Isthmian League pyramid during the late 1980s and consolidated their presence.

By the mid-1990s, the club had ascended into the Isthmian League Premier Division but relegation followed in 1998. Yeading made their return to the Premier Division in 2004 and took their place in Conference South the following season.

Arguably the club's most famous moment came in 2004/5, when Newcastle United came to town (or rather Queens Park Rangers' Loftus Road stadium) in the FA Cup Third Round. In addition to that, Yeading are also former winners of the FA Vase.
