Waltham Abbey might just be on the cusp of stepping up to the next level following their promotion to the Ryman League Premier League by winning the 2008/9 Divison One North playoffs. However, the club fell back into Division One North in 2010

It was the first time in the Abbotts history that they have competed at such a level since their formation in 1944, but was a chance they would have wanted to take. The Essex club been restricted to regional and county senior league football for a large chunk of their history.
