Who Are... Thurrock FC?
A relatively young club, Thurrock FC was originally called Purfleet for the first 18 years of its existence and the change preceded a strong finish in the 2003/4 season; so much so that the club was included in the first season of the Conference South and was only to be denied promotion to the Conference National by Eastbourne Borough in the playoffs. However, fortunes have not been so good in recent seasons and Thurrock has found itself battling relegation rather than fighting at the top end of the division.

In 2009/10, the club appeared to find its feet again with a 10th place finish.
