Now competing in their 13th successive campaign in the top division of non-league football, there are enough reasons to be cheerful for Stevenage Borough fans heading into the 2007/8 campaign. The club's FA Trophy win at Wembley in the 2006/7 season marked a further stage of development for the Hertfordshire club, who hadn't had much joy since their Conference winning season of 1995/6. With Mark Stimson entering his second full season in charge, the assembled squad should be the one that Stimson sees as his own and ready for a promotion push.
Boro' are no strangers to being rated as second pre-season favourites, but there may be more credence to that than ever this time around. If Boro' can concede less goals and get off to a better start than in 2006/7, a successful league campaign could be in store. Although there are serious contenders alongside them, a playoff spot is the very least that should be aimed for, and with the quality of the squad at Boro's disposal, they have a great chance of fulfilling that expectation.
