Slough Town have slid down the non-league ladder in recent years and are currently languishing in the second tier of the Southern League having almost been relegated during the 2007/8 season to regional feeder leagues after finishing 21st in the South and West Division One. They were granted a reprieve after the demise of Halifax Town but were a long way from the Blue Square Premier; a league they only left in 1998 due to ground issues.
Despite finishing 8th during the 1997/8 Nationwide Conference campaign, the Rebels' owners decided not to upgrade the Wexham Park Stadium and so incurred the wrath of Conference bosses and were demoted to the Isthmian League. Since then, the club has ground-shared with Windsor and Eton, before moving to share with Beaconsfield SYCOB. The Rebels are now looking to move back to their home town.
