Who Are... Salisbury City FC?
Promoted to the Blue Square Premier by virtue of a playoff final victory over Blue Square South rivals Braintree in a close final at Broadhall Way. The 2007/8 campaign saw Salisbury City in the top flight of non-league football for the first time in a relatively short history, having played many recent seasons in the Southern League.

Salisbury shot to fame in the 2006/7 season as they forced Nottingham Forest to a replay in the Second Round of the FA Cup before eventually bowing out, so the pressure of the challenge facing them in the Blue Square Premier was taken in their stride. A comfortable mid-table finish was unsurprising given their hard-to-beat nature but the 2008/9 season promises a greater challenge.

The growing strength of the competition means that Salisbury City will have to look primarily at survival. Ever capable of springing a hard lesson upon teams higher up the table, it won't be much of a surprise if Salisbury punch above their weight. However, the club may have to wait to do so again after it was demoted in 2010 for off-the-field problems.
