Leyton Wingate was the result of a merger between Leyton FC and Wingate FC in 1975 and continued until 1992. It was during this spell that Stevenage came up against the side, before they reverted back to Leyton FC in 1992. Another merger followed in 1995, however, with Walthamstow Pennant to form Leyton Pennant. Again, this didn't show any signs of longevity and led to the reformation of Leyton FC in 1997.
