HISTORY

A couple of seasons in the Conference marked the extent of Leek Town's ascent up the non-league pyramid in the late 1990s, but the push couldn't be sustained. The club slipped further before regaining their place in the Northern Premier League Premier Division until 2008, despite staving off a winding up order in 2006.

Another relegation ensued in 2008, but there was an immediate return upwards. That said, the club was still in a position that was a long way off a return to the Blue Square Premier fold for another shot at the top table of non-league football.
