Before the Second World War, Kingstonian were one of the dominant forces in non-league football as they picked up two Athenian League titles and two Isthmian League titles. The club continued to push in the postwar years but reached a plateau for a number of seasons until promotion to the Nationwide Conference in 1998.
Under the stewardship of ex-Woking boss, Geoff Chapple, the K's put in two decent seasons before the third ended in relegation. Yet, in true Chapple style, Kingstonian were a team that put in a double-shift against Stevenage Borough, including a 5-2 win at Broadhall Way in the year they went down.
