Although fortunes have tailed off in recent seasons for Ipswich Town as they settle into a comfortable life in the Coca-Cola Championship, the team has a rich history of success that can sometimes be overlooked in favour of larger clubs.
Not only has the club managed to secure European and FA Cup success in their long history, the Tractor Boys have the rare honour of having been able to call themselves champions of English football just one season after promotion from Division Two in the early 1960s. Some of the Tractor Boys' most successful periods coincided with Sir Bobby Robson's presence as manager, while plenty of the game's iconic players have taken to the pitch at Portman Road over the years. While times are a bit leaner in the modern era, Ipswich Town are a team with a heritage and one to be proud of. Select an option from the left for more information about this club |
