HISTORY

Heybridge Swifts was formed in 1880 but didn't make the switch to senior football until the early 1970s. After establishing themselves in the Essex Senior League, the club stepped up to the Isthmian League in 1984. Again, it was all about consolidation as the Swifts slowly edged up the pyramid until gaining entry into the Isthmian League Premier Division in 1996.

However, despite a second place finish in the 2005/6 campaign - losing to Fisher Athletic in the playoffs, the club lost its way and was relegated into Division One North in 2009.
