HISTORY

Hednesford Town burst onto the GM Vauxhall Conference scene in 1995 and, as Stevenage Borough secured the title that year, the Staffordshire club almost went unnoticed as they charged their way into third position by the end of the season.

That was as good as it was to get for Hednesford Town, with the team slowly sinking back down the table before relegation in 2001. They re-captured the imagination, briefly, in the 2002/3 season with a cup run that took them to defeat against Middlesbrough in the fourth round.
