Who Are... Hayes and Yeading United FC?
Formed in 2007 when Hayes and Yeading United merged to ensure sustainable football in the local community, the club had a relatively good start in life by assuming Hayes' position in the Blue Square South. That said, Yeading too were in the Blue Square South at the time, and by pooling their resources to secure the future of lower league football in west London, the club now comes up to the Blue Square Premier to really test itself.

With plenty of history behind both sides of the Hayes and Yeading tree, there is experience coarsing throughout the club and it should stand the club in good stead that Hayes spent six years in the Conference between 1996 and 2002. Yeading have enjoyed slightly lesser success along their travels, but both come together to form a plucky underdog that will fancy its chances of doing something special in the top flight of non-league football.

However, the reality of the situation they find themselves in is incredibly stark. Hayes and Yeading will pit their wits against the likes of Oxford, Luton and Cambridge - three teams that are capable of upsetting the odds in the Football League, let alone the Blue Square Premier. If Hayes and Yeading aren't truly cautious about their approach, and fully understand the task in hand, it could be a long and painful season in Middlesex, and likely to result in an instant return to the Blue Square South.
