HISTORY

Formed three years after the conclusion of the Second World War, Hastings United started life in competition with Hastings and St. Leonards Amateurs as the town's most prominent team. Having immediately entered the Southern League, the original United remained in the competition for the duration of the club's lifespan.

However, that came to an end in the summer of 1985. To provide further context, the Amateurs had by this point renamed as Hastings Town and were left to carry the can for the town's aspirations. In 2002, they adopted the United moniker themselves, having previously taken up the former club's Southern League space.
