HISTORY

Initially formed in 1879 sans Town suffix, Halstead Town joined the Essex Senior League in 1980 after years competing in the Haverhill and District and the Essex and Suffolk Border leagues. The Essex Senior League proved tough to begin with, but the club found its feet and by 1988 had entered the Eastern Counties League.

A couple of league titles during the mid-1990s was tempered by relegation shortly after the turn of the millennium, and while the club regained Premier Division status in 2003, the stay was only limited to four years.
