The Shay was certainly one of the larger grounds in the Conference, and it is not surprising given the heritage that the club has over past years. Despite being unable to regain their Football League status, a redevelopment of the main stand has increased the capacity to around 13,000.
Visting fans to The Shay are housed in the huge old main stand behind one of the goals. Unfortunately, the large roof means that acoustics in the stand are quite poor. Having said that, the ground as a whole has acoustic problems given the decreasing numbers of Halifax fans over the years.
