HISTORY

Gloucester City embarked on a new era in the club's history after pipping Farnborough in the Southern League playoff for promotion to Blue Square North in 2009. It ended a long association between the team and the Southern League that stretches back to 1939, with varying degrees of success over the decades.

However, it also comes at a time when the club is desperately striving to return to their home city after being forced out by flooding in recent years. In 2007, the club set up camp with Forest Green before heading onto Cirencester. More recently, home would be Cheltenham Town.
