HISTORY

Much has been made of the controversial circumstances that surrounded the 'defection' of Graham Westley to Stevenage Borough in 2003, and the subsequent move to sign a number of players in the following days. The initial animosity has now subsided, but the Farnborough as we see today are a new club.

The former Farnborough Town went into liquidation in 2007 and was reborn minus the Town suffix, relaunching themselves in Southern League Division One South & West. Their first season produced a title-winning charge, and promotion to the Southern League Premier Division.

However, the club was unable to translate their momentum during the 2008/9 campaign into a promotion to Blue Square South. It does bode well for the club that the return to the top appears to becoming sooner rather than later. With troubles behind them, it's looking good for Farnborough to kick on once again.
