HISTORY

Not to be confused with Dover Athletic, Dover FC formed in 1947 following the demise of four clubs before the Second World War. Having secured success in the Kent League during the early 1950s, the club had to wait until the early 1960s to earn a place in the Southern League.

Promotion to the Premier Division was a shorter delay, and two successive third place finishes suggested something special was on the cards. However, the progress waned and the club folded in 1983.
