HISTORY

Now a full-time club, Dorchester Town have travelled a long way from humble beginnings in the late 19th century. After a long history in the Western League and the Southern League, the club has competed in Conference South since 2004 although the record has tailed off as the seasons have progressed from an initial top-half placing.

However, the club has a major boast it can make over Stevenage Borough. The Hertfordshire club fell at the first hurdle during their defence of the FA Trophy at Dorchester Town in 2007 under the stewardship of Peter Taylor. It was a major scalp for the Dorset club, and duly lauded as one.
