A club that seems to be very much on rise, it seems strange to think that Doncaster Rovers were forced to serve out their penance in the Conference for a handful of seasons after relegation from the Football League. The club forged a route through the 2002/3 playoffs to secure the club's return to Division Three, and the Yorkshire club refused to look back.
The rise continued after moving into the shiny Keepmoat Stadium, with Rovers ascending into the second tier of League football for the first time since the 1957/8 season. If the club continue to consolidate that progress, aspirations may grow yet further. Certainly, a respectable 12th place finish in the 2009/10 Championship season indicated that foundations may be there for Rovers to build on. However, there was a slight reminder in 2010/1 that the work is not over after narrowly escaping the drop from the Championship. Select an option from the left for more information about this club |
