The 2010/1 campaign was a memorable one for Crawley Town in many ways. No matter how one feels about the levels of investment they benefited from, the club romped to the Blue Square Premier title without much challenge, while the FA Cup threw up yet more glory. Having seen off Derby County in the third round, a win against Torquay United in the fourth round saw them go to Old Trafford. Manchester United laboured to a 1-0 win.

It came two years after the club found themselves deducted points for their off-the-pitch troubles at the Broadfield Stadium for the third successive season. Issues relating to ownership and finances continued to plague the Sussex club, and the 2007/8 campaign was yet another one started with a negative points tally. If they had not been deducted ten points ahead of the 2006/7 season, Crawley's form would have seen them finish in 10th position.

The Red Devils are not a team to be taken lightly by any stretch of the imagination. With former Boston boss Steve Evans in charge, they have a manager who is experienced in leading a team to the Football League with Boston United. If they can get off to a good start in their first Football League campaign, an outside bet for the playoffs or automatic promotion is not beyond the realms of possibility.
