HISTORY

Clapton FC - not to be confused with Clapton Orient, the former name of Leyton Orient - had a fine non-league pedigree before the outbreak of the Second World War. Two-time Isthmian League champions, the club also had five FA Amateur Cup titles to their name by the mid-1920s. But the success failed to last, and 1973 signalled the relegation of the club to the second tier of the Isthmian League.
